Ranbir Ramayana or Prabhas Adipurush: Who won first battle?

on Jul 3, 2025

Ramayana is one of the legendary tales of India that many actors from the beginning of cinematic era have tried to bring it to life on big screens. Recently, Prabhas tried retelling with Adipurush and now, Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Yash as Ravana, are bringing Ramayana.

Namit Malhotra, owner of Prime Focus Studios with Yash is producing the film on a never-seen-before scale. The movie glimpse has been released today and many people have started comparison with Adipurush as Ramayana team have also cut same chocolate cake in a Blue Screen Studio post shoot wrap.

So, even we cannot escape from such a comparison. The look of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama is pitch perfect to Valmiki description in comparison with Prabhas look in Adipurush. Yash as Ravana looked more intense than Saif Ali Khan. Also, the VFX background looked more realistic than Adipurush in the glimpse.

Musically, Ajay-Atul have composed best tracks for the album while Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman for the glimpse scored pulsating score. The visual grandness and differences in vision are visible between Om Raut's version and Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari's version. The first bout goes to Ramayana team.

The movie will be releasing in two parts - first Part on Diwali 2026 and second part for Diwali 2027. We have to see how the rest of the characters looks and performances will be designed by the makers. Namit Malhotra's Ramayana has 8-time Oscar winning VFX Studio DNEG at work as well.
