Superstar Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj are coming together for the first time for Coolie. Akkineni Nagarjuna, Satyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Upendra are playing other prominent leading roles in the film. Now, Pooja Hegde has been added to the ensemble cast for a special song.
Lokesh Kanagaraj in his previous film interviews stated that he is not in favor of special or item songs in his films. He stated that he doesn't like to break the flow of the screenplay to infuse a song. But this move from him has shocked many of his fans. He started his own Cinematic Universe, LCU, where dark themes are explored.
He has been seen as a director who loves to keep the film serious and true to the narrative. But he came up with this new addition for Rajinikanth's film. Even it is rumored that Aamir Khan will have a cameo in the film. Why so many stars in one film? People are wondering why did he go for so many items for this one.
It looks like for Rajinikanth Lokesh has changed his policy to make it a celebratory film. Also, it feels like Lokesh is being asked to follow Jailer and Petta template as much as he can by Sun Pictures, the producer. Well, whatever might be the reason, Lokesh seems to have made some compromises for his Coolie.
