Exclusive Interview with Shruti Hassan

Daughter of Kamal Hassan - Padma Shri holder and one of the most admired actors of all time in Indian cinema, Shruti Hassan has finally made her debut in Telugu movies amidst huge pressure. In an exclusive interview with TeluguOne.com, this singer turned music composer turned actor shares lot of facta about her debut movie Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu.
Teluguone: Hi Shruti, how are you
Shruti Hassan (SH): I’m fine and hope the same with you
Teluguone: how did you first get the opportunity to act in Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu?
SH: Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu director Kovelamudi Prakash came down to Chennai and narrated me the script. I felt the story has a novel theme and I immediately okayed the movie.
Teluguone: Did you know that World Disney is producing this movie
SH: I don’t know, and we started the movie. But World Disney joined us when the movie already started. That news gave us much thump
Teluguone: You dad Kamal Hassan is very close to Telugu audience. So being a daughter of such a great actor, what’s your take on acting in Telugu movies
SH: It’s a wonderful feeling; In fact, I believe dad has bigger fame here in AP than in Tamil Nadu. People here have extended a warm welcome and gave me a good reception. I’m really feeling great.
Teluguone: Tell us about your co-star Siddharth?
SH: He’s a great co-star to work with. Siddharth is very cooperative and I’ve learnt a lot from him
Teluguone: Siddharth said that he learnt acting from your dad Kamal Hassan. And you learnt from Siddharth. Is it like Shruti Hassan learning from dad?
SH: Smile :) Yes, you can take that way
Teluguone: How was it working with Kovelamudi Prakash Rao
SH: Prakash knows what exactly he wants. He is a director of substance and always has clarity in what he makes.
Teluguone: What about the music of Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu
SH: There are four music directors who compose music. Each song is situational and elevates the mood of the scene and every song is unique in its way. I’m very happy with the response of the audio.
Teluguone: Do you have any offers in Telugu?
SH: There are few offers, but they are still in discussion. Its premature to comment on that until they are finalized.
Teluguone: You are also a music director. So what’s the update on that?
SH: Currently, my focus is only on acting. But I do concentrate on music at leisure
