The English version of Yash starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has opened to an extremely poor response in India, with the film selling only around 450 tickets on its first day and collecting approximately Rs. 1.40 lakh.

The English version was released on September 4, nearly ten days after the Kannada original and its Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions arrived in theatres. However, by then, Toxic was already facing a severely negative word of mouth, while competition from Hanuman Ansh and Mirzapur The Movie further limited its theatrical prospects. 

The English cut was given only 11 shows across four cities — Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurugram and Noida. Mumbai and Bengaluru recorded the relatively better response, while Gurugram and Noida reportedly sold fewer than 25 tickets each.

The poor opening also raises questions over the decision to release a separate English version at this stage. The film's original-language theatrical run has already slowed considerably, with the Hindi version standing at Rs. 130.09 crore after its first week. On September 4, the film's total business across languages was estimated at around Rs. 1.50–1.60 crore. 

At the current pace, the English version may struggle to even reach Rs. 10 lakh lifetime, making what was expected to be an additional opportunity for Toxic look like a largely ineffective theatrical exercise.
