Botsa Takes Charge as APCC President

Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, who was appointed new APCC president by the Congress high command, has formally taken charge as PCC chief just a couple of hours ago. Before going to Gandhi Bhavan for oath taking ceremony, Botsa went to Necklace Road in a rally and garlanded the statue of smt. Indira Gandhi.  

Damodar Rajanarasimha: New Dy. CM of AP

Damodar Rajanarasimha has been appointed the new Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh by the Congress. He is currently the state's higher education minister and took additional charge of agriculture, after YSR's brother Vivekananda Reddy quit as Minister.

Congress Leaders From Telangana Meet PM

A delegation of Congress leaders from the Telangana region met the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today at Delhi. The leaders met the prime minister and requested him to expedite the process to carve out the separate state as announced by Mr. Chidambaram on 9 Dec'10. The leaders also asked for removal of para 14 from the Presidential orders and to facilitate removal of hurdles in the recruitment of SIs' of Police in the region. They also appraised the Prime Minister with the probable problems that would crop up due to inordinate delay taking place in formation of the separate state.

MP Sarve Satyanarayana's Unparliamentary Language

Enraged by not finding his name on the inauguration-plaque of an electrical sub-station, Malkajgiri MP Sarve Satyanarayana abused the concerned Addl. Divisional Engineer using most unparliamentary language. He even threatened the officer with dire consequences and thrashing by his followers present at the venue.

After Ramdev Govt. Turns Stern With Anna Team

After evicting Baba Ramdev from Delhi, the government today asserted itself against Anna Hazare and his colleagues, sternly telling them that it would go ahead with the drafting of the Lokpal Bill "even in their absence", if civil society representatives continued with their boycott of the joint committee meetings. It also underlined to the Hazare camp that its involvement in the drafting exercise was being seen as undermining of the "supremacy of the Constitution" by other political parties. The government, however, invited them for the next meeting of the joint committee on June 15.

Baba Ramdev Says PM is Politically Dishonest

Baba Ramdev, who is continuing his fast against corruption said that the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Sing is politically dishonest. Reacting to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's remarks on the police crackdown, Ramdev said, "The PM as a person is honest but questions are arising on his honesty as a politician". Critisising the Delhi Police, he said, "The police have destroyed the CCTV that were installed and the recording taken away forcibly and edited to give a wrong impression to the people". Seemingly, a mellowed down Baba Ramdev said that he has forgiven those who planned the conspiracy to kill him, but he doesn't forgive those who have betrayed the nation.

Baba Ramdev Riding on Sympathy Wave Now

Reacting to police crackdown on Baba Ramdev's camp in the midnight at Delhi, the Anna Hazare team came out in open support for Baba Ramdev on Sunday, putting their differences aside. Speaking in Delhi, Hazare accused the government of throttling democracy, and said civil society would launch protests throughout the country to "teach government a lesson".  

Baba Ramdev Starts Satyagraha at Hardwar

Baba Ramdev sat on satygraha along with his supporters and disciples at 'yagyashala' of his Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar late last night. The yoga guru, who was flown out of the national capital after police crackdown on his followers, tried to resume his hunger strike in Noida yesterday, but was not allowed to enter Uttar Pradesh. He was stopped on the border of Muzaffarnagar district at Bhuraheri police check post where the administrative officials asked him to return to Uttarakhand. Later, Baba returned to Patanjali Yogpeeth last night and began his fast.

Baba Ramdev Easier to deal With Than Anna

Baba Ramdev began his indefinite hunger strike at the Ramleela Maidan in New Delhi today. The government yesterday failed to persuade him to call off his plans. According to sources, the government went in to huddle after talks with Baba Ramdev failed and it may agree to his demands in the next 24 hrs. Ramdev's fast-unto-death could come to an end even before the anti-corruption crusader, Mr Anna Hazare, joined him on Sunday.

Baba Ramdev Hints at Conspiracy

During the discourse, before kick starting his fast unto death against corruption at Ramleela Maidan Delhi, Baba Ramdev alleged there was a conspiracy against him to ensure that he does not go ahead with his protest fast but asserted that it had "failed." The yoga guru refused to reveal what the conspiracy was but said that he will reveal it at the 'right time'.  

Baba Ramdev Goes on Fast: Talks Failed

Baba Ramdev started his indefinite fast against corruption at Ramleela Maidan, Delhi, as talks held by the government with the yoga guru didn't bear any fruit sofar. Baba Ramdev, who arrived at the venue at around 4:50 am and was welcomed with a huge round of applause from his followers. The crowd cheered him whenever he spoke about bringing back black money. Before launching the fast, Baba Ramdev held a yoga and bhajan session during which he told the gathering that his protest was "a satyagraha against corruption intended to save the country from corruption and ensure that the poor get a good life."

Naidu Hits Back Jagan With NCM Against Govt.

The six month old Kiran Kumar government in AP has been served with a no-confidence notice by TDP yesterday. The TDP's decision to move no-trust vote against the government comes in the wake of YSR Congress president Jagan Moahan Reddy accusing the TDP of being in a 'match-fixing-deal' with the Congress government in the state. TDP supremo Chandrababu hit back jagan by asking him to parade the Congress MLAs supporting him before the Governor prior to the no-trust motion.

TDP Gives No-confidence Notice Against Govt.

Taking advantage of a brief session of state Assembly convened by the chief minister to elect the Speaker, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu convened an emergency meeting of all available MLAs and senior leaders and decided to give a notice of no-confidence motion. According to the TDP leaders, it is a win-win situation for them. The chair will have no option but to accept the motion as it requires support of only 30 members to get it admitted. This would provide an opportunity for them to 'expose' the government. However, if the assembly meets only one day with a single-point agenda of electing a new Speaker, the no-confidence issue may not come up now.  

TD Activists, OU Students Clash at Mahanadu Venue

A group of Osmania JAC students tried to stage dharna against the ongoing TDP Mahanadu at Gandipet. The students demanded that the TD come clean on the Telangana issue and warned that they would disrupt the meeting. Immediately, a group of TD youth activists gheraoed the students and attacked them physically.
