Arrested Minister Mopidevi Remanded to Judicial Custody

The first minister to be arrested in Jagan Mohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana has been produced before the Special CBI courts in Nampally this afternoon. After due proceedings, the court remanded him to judicial custody till 7 June.

Arrested Minister Mopidevi Resigns

Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, who has been arrested by the CBI today in connection with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case, has tendered his resignation a short while ago. Mopidevi sent his resignation letter to the Governor through PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana.

In a dramatic turn of events, minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana was arrested by the CBI a short while ago, on Thursday 24 May 2012, in connection with Jagan Mohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case. The minister was grilled by the CBI yesterday for over seven hours and again called for questioning to Dilkusha Guest House today.

Hampi Express Accident: At least 25 people were killed and over 30 were injured when Bangalore-bound Hampi Express collided with a goods train in Andhra Pradesh today.

Ministers Raghuveera Reddy, Shailajanath and MP Chiranjeevi visited the Hampi Express train accident site. The Hubli-Bangalore Hampi Express has met with ghastly accident in the wee hours of Tuesday at Penugonda station, when the express train rammed into a stationary goods train. Four bogies of the express train got derailed, while three bogies gutted completely in the fire caused by the crash. So far 16 deaths have been reported, out of which 10 got burnt alive including the driver of the train, while over 40 people are said to be injured critically.

KA Paul Sent to District Jail on 14 Days Remand

Preacher and founder of Praja Shanti Party, Dr. KA Paul was sent to Prakasham district jail in Ongole for 14 days judicial remand on Monday. Paul was arrested earlier on charges of the murder of his brother David Raju in 2010. It is alleged that KA Paul had differences with his brother David Raju over some property issues and Paul got him murdered through hired assasins Koteswara Rao and few others.

Dr. KA Paul, who became wellknown through his Global Peace Initiative and floated the Praja Santhi Party in 2007, was on Monday held in connection with the murder of his brother David Raju in the year 2010. According to reports, Paul was arrested by the authorities in Ongole. Paul’s brother David Raju was murdered in connection with a property dispute, say the initial reports.
