Keeping aside these positive factors, biggest challenge for the film was titling it ‘Tholi Prema’. As we all know, Tholi Prema was game changer for Pawan Kalyan. How this Tholi Prema is going to have its impact on Varun Tej’s career?

Story:
Aditya (Varun Tej) is an arrogant guy who doesn’t like to fail in anything in life. Other quality of him is he doesn’t change his attitude or behavior for anybody in the world. Meanwhile, Aditya meets Varsha (Raashi Khanna) in a train on his way to his hometown. He proposes her swiftly and Varsha who is well-matured and takes time to take decisions ask him time till next day morning. However, when Aditya gets up, she is not there. They again meet after six years in London on a project. How they react? Why Varsha came to London? Will Aditya ever change his mindset? Will Aditya and Varsha ever unite?

Positives:
1. Writing
2. Direction
3. Lead Actors Performance
4. Music
5. Cinematography
6. Production Values

Negatives:
1. Few Boring Scenes In Second Half

Analysis:
In the film, Varun Tej likes to take up challenges. In fact, grabbing his babai Pawan Kalyan’s title itself is biggest challenge for him. On the flip side, they have valid reason for locking the title ‘Tholi Prema’ for the film. Actually, first love will be very special for everyone and it will be remembered forever whether it succeeds or not. Coming to the film Tholi Prema, it’s about love and hates in life. Varun Tej falls in love with Raashi Khanna in very first sight. He doesn’t waste much time and proposes her immediately. The railway station episode was lovely and refreshing. Then, story shifts to Engineering College where we get to witness arrogant nature of Varun. The romantic track between the lead pair is so cool. However, one incident leads to their separation. Good thing about this episode is even we as a spectator hate Varun for his arrogant behavior. Movie shifts to London in second half, where Varun and Raashi meet again. It was a tough task to carry on the second half, where there has chances of getting slow down, but thankfully movie runs on good pace owing to good writing. The dialogue “Manam Manushulam, Prema Kannaa Kopanne Ekkuvagaa Gurthupettukuntaam”, uttered by Raashi Khanna makes every one of us emotional. Yes, we human beings remember only bad incidents in life, more than happy or cheering moments. Movie ends at railway station and on positive note.

Artists Performances:

Varun Tej is maturing as an actor. You will just travel with the character Aditya that he essayed in the film. He indeed has shown lots of variation in his character. He was boyish when he was in college and was a man when he’s doing job in London. Varun looked handsome in both eras. Raashi Khanna was lovely, cute and bubbly. You will simply fall in love with her. She too has shown lots of maturity. The episode of Raashi Khanna convincing Naresh for his daughter’s marriage with her friend is the best in the film. Priyadarshi Pullikonda and Hyper Aadhi are funny. Vidyullekha Raman also provided entertainment in college episodes. Whenever Varun addresses her ‘akka’ in the college episodes, it will tickle our funny bones. Suhasini Maniratnam was decent as Varun Tej’s mother. Other artists played their parts efficiently.

Technical Aspect:
Venky Atluri is a skillful writer and filmmaker. He has good commanding in story-telling. Although the line story is not unique and revolves around the lead character Varun Tej who is arrogant, Venky with his style of narration made it look like a fresh subject. Moreover, the film hardly has any negatives. It is racy and engaging from start to end except for few places in second half. Few dialogues in the film will be remembered forever. S Thaman has given fresh and hummable tunes. His background score is also top notch. George C. Williams’s cinematography is definitely worth a special mention. Navin Nooli also has done wonderful job as editor. Production values of SVCC are high in standard.

Verdict:
Tholi Prema is definitely worth watching in theaters. Don’t miss this one.
