Story
:

White (Ram) steps into Ongole Mirchi Yard to make his livelihood, but his aim is to take over the entire market yard. White starts working hard in the market yard and succeeds in winning the hearts of the merchants. Adhikeshavulu (Prakash Raj) is the chairman for the mirchi yard and Sandhya/Sandy (Kriti Kharbhanda) is his loving daughter. Under tricky circumstances, Sandy gets engaged to White and Adikeshavulu has no option but to agree for their marriage. Will sandy gets married to White ? Can White succeed in fulfilling his dream ? All these forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Director Bhaskar has changed his genre and tried a subject which has got the potential to add enough mass elements. The first 10-15 minutes of the movie establishes the hero's characterization and gives you more insights that he's getting poised for higher horizons. Entire first half revolves around Ram and Prakash Raj. Ram tried in every way to get hold of Mirchi Yard and in the meanwhile he falls for Krithi. Story moves on without any twists and turns and the director tried to raise the tempo with the pre-interval fight.

Bhaskar tried to start off the second half on a comedy note. Though the folk dancers song is too good, their effort and their performance must be appreciated. Except the Thikkavaaripalem episode, none of the scenes seemed to be entertaining. Director has selected  a good story but a tight screenplay would have saved the film.

Teluguone Perspective

As told earlier, director bhaskar has changed his genre and tried his hand this time with mass elements. He has made some nice films like 'Bommarillu' and 'Parugu' in the past and one wouldn't expect this kind film from him. Ram justified his tittle 'Energetic Star' with his energetic performance but as said by many, script must be the main hero for the film. Songs are big minus for 'Ongole Gitta' and not even a single song is catchy. Director unfolded the real drama in the second half still the tempo remains the same. On a whole, Bhaskar failed to make a Mass film and it will be better if he can stick to his genre(Love Stories).

Performances :

Ram gave a lot to his character White/Dora Babu. The way he has matured with films and as an actor is absolutely brilliant. He has lent lot of energy and tried to shoulder the movie with his characterization. Kriti Kharbanda is beautiful and has done her job in a limited role she was offered. Prakash Raj and prabhu looked OK in the characters which they have already done number of  times in the past. Kishore Das and Raghu Babu were good and will bring smile to the audience.

Technicalities :

Cinematography by Venkatesh is commendable . GV Prakash songs might sound good to listen but the picturisation was average. BGM by Manisharma is OK.

Positives
:
Ram's Performance and Kriti Kharbanda's glamour

Negatives :
Predictable story
Songs
Dull Screenplay

Final Word : Nothing new, If you are a movie buff, watch 'Ongole Gitta' at your leisure time or wait for a DVD (Original).

Ongole Gitta Rating : 2.5/5
