Tweet becomes a problem for Shilpa Shetty

on Nov 29, 2016

Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty has come under fire for advocating the use of George Orwell’s Animal Farm as a teaching aid to promote care for animals amongst children. George Orwell's 1945 novella Animal Farm is actually a dystopian allegory for the rise of Stalinism. This led to sharp criticism from Twitter users for her suggestion of book.

After a day of trolling, Shilpa took to Twitter to reveal her side of the story. Accepting that she has never read any of the books she recommended, the actor wrote, Whilst I admire the writers of LOTR, Harry Potter & Animal Farm I’ve “NEVER” read these books(@ the cost of sounding even dumber!)Not my kind… ..So recommending them to kids is out of the question! Obviously some misunderstanding…Don’t want to get into it.This too shall pass. ”,

she said. This has caused a huge embarrassment for the actress. Shilpa Shetty Kundra's quote on the the books that should be included in school curriculum led to a PR person from the agency handling her work getting fired.
