Filmmaker Karan Johar met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday to discuss the release of his upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Claiming victory and satisfaction at having achieved their demands, Thackeray said, “In the meeting with Mukesh Bhatt and others, I told them when Pakistan wants, it releases our films when they don’t want they ban our films and bans our channels. Then why are you time and again rolling out the red carpet for them? Is there any such really big star there that you have to take them in films here? No need of all these things.” Producers Sidharth Roy Kapur, Film and Television Producers Guild of India president Mukesh Bhatt, Sajid Nadiadwala and Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studios were also present in the meeting. Earlier this week, seeking to calm tempers over opposition to the release of his directorial venture, Johar had made a fervent appeal against stalling the release, saying he will not engage with talent from Pakistan in future.
