Anushka’s Size Zero: An Insult To Telugu

In Telugu Film Industry, there is no rule like films will get subsidies or taxation scheme will be changed if a film’s name is in pure Telugu. That gave the film makers a chance to come up with english titles like Businessman, Power, Happy Days and most recently Size Zero.
For Anushka’s latest flick “Size Zero”, where the Tamil title is “Inzhi Iduphazaji”, meaning cute-waist girl. In Telugu we have the words “Nadum Sannajaaji” as the tagline, but why can’t it become the main title? Somehow no filmmaker or producer takes Telugu language seriously, often converse in English at Telugu cinema audio launch programs but makes only Telugu films for a living.
There are filmmakers like Gautham Menon who come up with poetic titles in Tamil, but we don’t have one here. Probably our directors and producers should stop insulting Telugu with these english titles.
