Nani and Srikanth Odela promised a high octane revolutionary action drama with The Paradise. After Dasara, both have come together to deliver this big intense and raw actioner. After several delays, the movie released today. Let's discuss about it in detail. 

 

Plot: 

Jadal (Nani) is the son of Sammakka (Sonali Kulkarni) who wishes to bring identity to their Savvari tribe. Local Zamindar Shikanja Malik (Mohan Babu) decides to never let this tribe get their identity as Indian citizens. He tortures a young Sammakka forcing birth of Jadal which kills his twin sister. 

Jadal gets into a brawl with Vikram Malik (Raghav Juyal) for a biriyani piece at a very young age. Shikanja Malik forces a tattoo on Jadal and he is arrested for 14 years in jail. After he is released, he decides to go for a brutal war against Malik family. But he hates his mother and even distances from his love Subbu (Kayadu Lohar). Why? How does the ear for identity end? Analysis: 

Nani is good as Jadal and his body language, transformation are visible on screen. He did his best to excel in many scenes and fights. His hardwork is visible in certain scenes but he is undermined by lackluster writing. Sonali Kulkarni leaves an impression. Mohan Babu is good but underused. Raghav Juyal wasted and Kayadu Lohar is clueless. 

Main problem lies with Srikanth Odela's writing and execution. He has an idea to present certain things on big screen but they are just cool looking blocks on paper and lack a cohesive narrative. Many scenes and sequences seem to have been written because action films are made in a certain way. 

He doesn't try to innovate or bring a better scene and structure to the story rather than filling it all up with blood, random women being harassed. Each scene seems to have been thought in several ways on how we can present torture on women and babies rather than evoking emotion. 

It gets tiring as the screenplay follows a template and there is no real struggle. It looks like everything happens easy and resolved only through action. Even action sequences become random with launchers, people being hanged to death but saving themselves. Srikanth Odela lacked proper screenplay to stitch everything together and went overboard in many scenes. 

Even Anirudh Ravichander couldn't really salvage the situation while cinematography is also not that good. Editing by Navin Nooli is forgettable and production values are good. Overall, The Paradise fails to create an impact such stories need to connect with audiences.
