The dispute surrounding the TFTDDA - Telugu Film and TV Dancers and Dance Directors Association has taken a fresh turn after months of tensions over the functioning of the union. The issue had earlier escalated between Jani Master, his wife Sumalatha and the Film Federation, with Jani Master even approaching the Telugu Film Chamber seeking intervention. The Federation later issued show-cause notices and a non-cooperation order against the duo.

The non-cooperation action was eventually withdrawn after Jani Master appeared before the Federation and submitted his explanation. Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna also intervened in the matter, following which Jani Master apologised for his remarks and called for unity among the members.

Now, the issue has returned to the spotlight with the Film Federation taking a fresh decision on the association’s leadership. In a meeting attended by 225 dancers, Sumalatha received the support of 11 members, while 214 members backed choreographer Raghu Master. Following the meeting, the Federation dissolved the existing executive committee headed by Sumalatha.

Fresh elections for the Telugu Film and TV Dancers and Dance Directors Association have now been announced for October 11. The development marks another major turn in the prolonged dispute over the association’s leadership and functioning.
