Rakul Preet Singh has broken her silence on the recent Income Tax searches in Mumbai after reports linked her name to an ongoing probe into suspected financial irregularities involving overseas transactions. The actress has strongly denied any involvement, stating that the search was not pertaining to her.
Rakul said she has been paying her due taxes since the age of 20 and described herself as a responsible, law-abiding citizen. She also made it clear that she is not involved in any illegal foreign remittance, either in her personal capacity or on behalf of any production house.

The actress further denied holding any benami property for anyone in India or abroad. She also stated that nobody has ever gifted her any property and that she does not accept expensive gifts as a matter of principle. Rakul criticised what she called false, malicious and speculative reports and urged those who published them to retract the reports and clarify the facts.

The Income Tax Department had reportedly conducted searches at around 12 locations on September 28, including places linked to Rakul, her father-in-law and producer Vashu Bhagnani, and Panorama Studios. The probe is reportedly looking into suspected irregularities involving film financing and overseas transactions. However, no specific finding or formal charge against Rakul has been publicly announced.
