Director Prashanth Neel has shared the extreme physical toll Jr. NTR underwent for his upcoming film, Dragon. Cast as an Afghanistan-based assassin, NTR was asked to drop significant weight to achieve a lean visual. However, the actor pushed his body beyond the initial requirement, shedding over 15 kilos and looking pale and physically weak.

The drastic change caused distress among his family and the production crew. Neel revealed that NTR's wife, his mother, and the entire Dragon unit were upset with the filmmaker for initiating this grueling transformation. Observing the severe impact on the actor's health, Neel personally intervened and asked him to stop the extreme regimen.

Despite the director's request, NTR refused to halt the process and persisted until he exactly mirrored the assassin concept they had designed. Fans loved his dedication for the role but felt his previous avatars in RRR and Aravinda Sametha were much better. 

Audiences on social media expressed a similar point, noting that the actor looked too lean and unrecognizable in the recent glimpse. While the dedication is great, maybe he pushed himself a bit too much.
