Ilaiyaraaja says he encouraged new comers who became big

Ilaiyaraaja attended Rajendra Prasad's Shastipoorthi film event in Hyderabad. At the event, Rajendra Prasad remarked that Ilaiyaraaja is the one who made careers of many heroes like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and even directors like Mani Rathnam, Manivannan, Bharatiraja, and many others.
MM Keeravaani also came to the event and he reciprocated same sentiment and stated that he used to copy Ilaiyaraaja's tunes in his early days. Ilaiyaraaja thanked Rajendra Prasad for jogging up old memories and stated that no one would have expected him to attend the event. But he came because of newcomers doing the film.
He stated that no one knew Bharatiraja, Mani Ratnam, Manivannan, Vamsi and many others before working with him. He never differentiated but encouraged everyone from newcomers to legends. He also stated that he loves to watch people growing and help them in any way possible to grow. He wished Shashtipoorthi team all success.
