Sumanth Prabhas’s recent release, Godari Gattupaina, has managed to turn the tide at the box office, grossing over Rs.8.06 crores worldwide in its first two weeks. Directed by Subhash Chandra and produced by Abhinav, the film initially faced a slow start and mixed reviews after its May 6th release. However, strong word-of-mouth eventually drew in the family demographic, turning the rural drama into a commercial success.

At a recent success meet, the team expressed their relief and gratitude. Producer Abhinav noted that while the initial days were tense, the film’s emotional core helped it find its footing, emphasizing that fake success cannot be manufactured. Director Subhash Chandra credited the lead cast, including Nidhi Pradeep, Jagapathi Babu, and Laila, for anchoring the story and bringing audiences to theaters.

For Sumanth Prabhas, the film marks a significant shift in his career. While his debut, Mem Famous, resonated primarily with the youth, Godari Gattupaina has introduced him to a wider family audience. After waiting three years for the right script, the actor admitted his initial hesitation in playing a character from the Godavari region but thanked the director for his unwavering trust. He further stated that his trust in good content has been strenghtened further by audiences.
