Sharwanand and Anupama Parameswaran starrer Bhogi has unveiled its first single, Egili Varanga, offering a glimpse into the film’s rustic world set in 1960s Telangana. Written and directed by Sampath Nandi and produced by KK Radhamohan, the film is gearing up for a worldwide release on November 12.

Following a teaser that showcased Sharwanand in a raw and rugged avatar, the song takes audiences into the lives, traditions and struggles of rural Telangana. From Anupama Parameswaran cleaning her surroundings ahead of the festival to Sharwanand and his fellow villagers offering their harvest to the Patel, the visuals capture the customs and social realities of the period with striking detail.

Sampath Nandi’s attention to the setting, backed by the production design and artwork, lends the song an authentic feel. Bheems Ceciroleo’s composition and Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose’s words complement the visuals, while singers Nalgonda Gaddar Narasanna, Relare Gopal, Narsireddy and Kandukuri Shankar Babu bring a distinct folk texture to the track.

Sharwanand stands out in his de-glamourised role, carrying a strong screen presence that fits the film’s rural setting. Anupama also appears convincingly immersed in the period. With its earthy music and carefully recreated Telangana milieu, Egili Varanga adds to the anticipation surrounding Bhogi and offers a deeper glimpse into the world Sampath Nandi is building.
