What is the most entertaining film of Sankranti 2026?
on Jan 15, 2026

Sankranti 2026 festival is here and this time around Telugu Cinema saw five releases. Big stars like Megastar Chiranjeevi, Prabhas and Ravi Teja came with entertainers along with young stars like Naveen Polishetty and Sharwanand. With no dubbing film releases, each film had family entertainment at the core and all films have been released by 14th January. Let's look at each film at a glance and decide which one ends up being more entertaining.
The Raja Saab: Prabhas starrer had least hype amongst the big star hero films as director Maruthi's brand name did not help Prabhas to ignite fan frenzy for it. While the old Prabhas get up did create some buzz, the movie ended up being too weak and narrative wise very boring. Upon release, the performance by Prabhas got praises but choosing to leave out Old Prabhas portions cost dearly. Movie ended up as an embarrassment for the big star and Sankranti season did not help it.
Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu: Megastar Chiranjeevi and blockbuster director Anil Ravipudi have come together for the first time for this film. Victory Venkatesh did a cameo and Nayanthara played leading lady role. Brand Anil Ravipudi mark entertainment and Chiranjeevi's vintage style and swag did help it. But the movie did not innovate much and it ends up as an average safe-bet entertainer aiming festival. Box Office initial numbers are great but content wise makers played too safe a game.
Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignapthy: Ravi Teja decided to Mass Maharaja image and go back to his Dubai Seenu style entertainer for this film. While his intent is good his script selection is still old school. The movie being too predictable did not help its course to get a gloring reviews and content wise the film is a letdown too. Still, it had its moments and it looked like it is aimed only at Sankranti festival crowds. Director Kishore Tirumala, Ashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayathi have tried to push it much with Ravi Teja not promoting much.

Anaganaga Oka Raju: Naveen Polishetty has over promoted the film trying to make it visible amongst all Sankranti releases. His strategy worked to an extent in gaining eyeballs but it created hype too. It became a hindrance for the film as content could not fully live up to it. Movie is marginally enjoyable but the first 30-40 minutes looked out-of-place. Meenakshi Chaudhary did well but movie entirely depending on Naveen also acted against it.
Nari Nari Naduma Murari: Sharwanand starrer has come up with a decent entertaining script that aims at tickling your rib and be silly at the same time. It did not take itself too seriously and the tone is set well. Satya, Sampath, Naresh, Vennela Kishore, Sunil, Sudharshan all have been used wisely and Ram Abbaraju delivered a decent entertainer that stands out among the films offered. Samyuktha and Sakshi Vaidya had less to do but they did not hamper the proceedings.
