A release-date tussle is reportedly brewing around Chiranjeevi films as both Kaaka and Vishwambhara are eyeing the Sankranti 2027 slot. While Kaaka has already announced January 13 as its release date, Vishwambhara makers are now said to be keen on the same festival window.

Vishwambhara, directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by UV Creations, was originally locked for Sankranti 2025 but had to be postponed after its first teaser received severe negative feedback. The team has been working on the VFX ever since, and there is now a push to bring the Chiranjeevi starrer for Sankranti 2027.

The problem is that Kaaka makers are reportedly not ready to budge. Bobby is working towards completing the film on time, with the entire release plan built around January 13. KVN Productions also has a trade reason to hold on to the date, as the banner is hoping Kaaka will compensate for the disappointing outing of Toxic, particularly in the Telugu states.

With both teams wanting the same prime slot, Chiranjeevi is reportedly in discussions with the makers. He is listening to the story of both sides and trying to gauge the advantages and disadvantages of both sides. He might take a decision once the Vishwambhara makers show him the recent output and their readiness.
