Arijit Singh reportedly took nearly 200 takes to record Jai Jai Ram, one of the key songs from Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. A source close to the song’s making revealed that the singer became deeply immersed in the devotional mood of the composition and kept experimenting with the performance until he felt he had captured the right emotion.

The source said Arijit was “so lost in the feeling” that the recording went far beyond a routine studio session. Instead of simply getting the technical aspects right, the singer reportedly kept trying different takes to bring out the spiritual and emotional depth of the song.

Composed by AR Rahman, Jai Jai Ram is sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, with lyrics by Kumar Vishwas. The song was released during Ganesh Chaturthi and offered the first musical glimpse into Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is being made as a two-part epic. The first part is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026, with Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The second part is expected to release in 2027.
