To minimize these ongoing losses, numerous theater managements have taken the drastic step to temporarily shut down their operations. Distributors and exhibitors have mutually decided to keep the shutters closed during this dry spell until a guaranteed blockbuster arrives to save the day.

The entire trade is now eagerly waiting for Ram Charan's pan-Indian rural sports drama, Peddi, which is slated for a grand release on June 4. The massive hype surrounding this Buchi Babu Sana directorial is expected to act as a major lifeline, effortlessly pulling massive crowds back to the big screens.
