Tamil Cinema stunned with the death of stuntman SM Raju

Arya and Pa. Ranjith have delivered a huge cult blockbuster with their boxing drama Sarpetta Parambarai. While the reports suggested that they have joined to produce a sequel to this revered film, they titled it as Vettuvan. Now, a freak accident on their sets stunned entire Tamil Cinema. 


Stunt Artist SM Raju has tragically died during a car flipping stunt on the sets. Vishal, President of Nadigar Sangam, has confirmed this update and he came forward to take care of Raju's family. Several videos fromt the sets have been circling on the internet, showing the accident. 


The videos show Raju driving a car at high speed before it topples and crumbles violently, drawing gasps from the crew. Team members can be seen rushing to the wreckage, pulling Raju out of the mangled vehicle, only to discover he had succumbed to his injuries. The atmosphere on set turned grim within seconds, as what was meant to be a controlled stunt ended in heartbreak.


Well, such an accident happened on the sets of Indian 2 before, leading to halting the shoot and production of the film. Currently, Vettuvan makers have reached out stuntmen union to extend their support to SM Raju's family and slowly, continue production of their film. 


The Tamil Cinema industry biggies are stunned looking at this freak accident. The stuntmen union heads are asking for maintaining proper safety standards on sets. Few are stating that these sort of freak accidents are rare but it is better to be safe than sorry.
