Soon after, a section of Suriya fans began trolling RJ Balaji and posting abusive comments on social media. Many felt the statement gave excessive credit to Vijay while overlooking Suriya’s role as the lead actor and the face associated with the film’s blockbuster success.

Some fans questioned why RJ Balaji publicly highlighted Vijay’s contribution without mentioning Suriya in the same context.
