Suniel Narang takes a shocking big decision

May 20, 2026

The ongoing revenue-sharing conflict within Tollywood has taken a dramatic turn. Renowned exhibitor, distributor, and producer Suniel Narang has officially resigned from his position as the President of the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce (TSFCC). The Chamber's Executive Committee formally accepted his resignation on May 20, 2026, bringing an abrupt end to his leadership tenure.

This unexpected move comes right on the heels of a massive industry-wide controversy. Over the past few weeks, Suniel Narang has been heavily in the headlines as a vocal defender of exhibitors. Leading the charge for the Telangana Exhibitors Association, Narang strongly advocated for a percentage-sharing model for single screens, objecting to the traditional fixed rental system and asking producers to adapt to save single-screen theaters.

However, this stance led to a direct and fierce clash with the Active Producers Guild. The situation quickly turned personal when producer Naga Vamsi took a public dig at Narang, questioning his emotional stance on saving single screens while aggressively expanding multiplex chains.

Suniel Narang retaliated sharply in a television interview, calling Naga Vamsi a "snake" and a "producer with duplicate hair" while defending his track record. With the war of words exposing a deep divide, Narang’s sudden departure from the TSFCC presidency indicates that the industry's internal friction has finally reached a boiling point.
