Satyamev Jayate Contestant Murdered

Aamir Khan's Satyamev Jayate program was a big hit on the small screen and everyone appreciated the actor's initiative taken to educate the society. But, we have same bad news here. Abdul Hakim, who appeared on Satyamev Jayate and spoke out against Khap panchayats, in an episode on honour killing, has been shot dead in his village, Adoli, in the Bulandshahr district of Meerut. He was allegedly shot in broad daylight by five men on 22 November, when he was on his way to get medicines for his pregnant wife.

Condemning the killing, Aamir said, ” This is a very disturbing thing that has happened and I think me and my team are extremely disturbed about it. We have been making attempts so that the culprits, the people behind this act is brought to book and the law take its own course. ” The police have made two arrests already, but the main culprit along with two others are still absconding.
