
Rashmika Mandanna is taking on the biggest challenge in her acting career to play MS Subbulakshmi in the MS biopic. Kamal Haasan, Siva Kumar have attended the film event in Chennai as special guests. Kamal Haasan stated that he had always been a fan of MS ma'am and he met her during Hey Ram film for Vaishnava Janatho song.
He revealed that Mahatma Gandhi loved MS's voice and hence, he went to get her to sing. He further wished Anirudh Ravichander a film like Shankarabharanam, Sagara Sangamam with this carnatic based musical biopic. Further Kamal asked writer-director Gowtam Tinnanuri to make it realistic and use her real life screenplay as is.

Kamal also called MS as "Pan-India Star of Indian Music". He wished Rashmika to perform as her bravely as she is the first South Indian woman icon. Siva Kumar expressed his frustration about Tamil filmmakers not coming forward to make MS biopic but Telugu filmmakers doing it.
Geeta Arts, Bunny Vasu, Rockline Venkatesh, Allu Aravind are producing the film with Gowtam Tinnanuri directing it and Anirudh Ravichander composing music. Rashmika Mandanna will be seen as MS Subbulakshmi with Madhan Karky as writer. Kamal Haasan clapped in on Rashmika while Samuthirakani directed first shot.
