Why Rajamouli didn't got National Award for "Best Direction" despite "Baahubali: The Beginning" grabbing the Best Film trophy?
Jury member Satish Kaushik of 63rd National Awards stated that Rajamouli has competed well with Sanjay Leela Bhansali but three major reasons have really helped the Bajirao Mastani director an edge over Baahubali director. "Three major factors, including the detailing shown in Bajirao, etched performances from actors and the varied emotions in the film have given an upper hand to Bhansali over Rajamouli" says Satish Kaushik.
Probably that explains why Rajamouli lost the award.
