Nivin Pauly and Soori’s upcoming Tamil film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai is heading for a Telugu release as Sanchari, but the film has reportedly run into a title issue even before reaching theatres. The Telugu title is said to have already been registered with the Telugu Film Chamber by filmmaker Chandra Siddhartha.

Chandra Siddhartha, known for films such as Aa Naluguru, Madhumasam, Andari Bandhuvaya and Aatagadara Siva, reportedly registered the title Sanchari under his Filmotsav banner for one of his upcoming films. The announcement of Nivin Pauly and Soori’s film with the same Telugu title has now come as a surprise to his team.

Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, directed by Ram, stars Nivin Pauly, Soori and Anjali. The film, which has already been screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 1.

The immediate question now is whether the Telugu version will continue with Sanchari or whether the title will have to be changed. With the release date approaching, the title registration issue could become an interesting hurdle for the film’s Telugu release.
