Naresh gets felicitated by Goa Governor

Sep 18, 2026 6:10PM

Naresh Vijayakrishna, the highly acclaimed Dr. Navarasaraya, was recently honoured at the historic Raj Bhavan in Goa. The Hon’ble Governor of Goa, H.E. Sri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, felicitated the actor on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 76th birthday. The Telugu community of Goa also gave him a grand and enthusiastic welcome.

Naresh began his journey in 1972 as a child artiste in Pandanti Kapuram and later delivered huge blockbusters starting with his 1982 lead debut. Celebrating 55 golden years, he shared his vast experiences with the Governor during a special interaction at Lok Bhavan. They discussed his successful films, social service initiatives, and his role as an honorary Colonel.

The senior actor stepped away from cinema for a while to serve the public, working tirelessly to restore water bodies in Anantapur and protect Rayalaseema's traditional arts. Since the 2000s, his powerful second innings has seen a massive resurgence. He is now one of the most sought-after actors, juggling multiple big-budget pan-India movies.

He has built a remarkably strong connection with today's Gen Z viewers. Because of this modern appeal, young and visionary filmmakers are writing bold, distinctly different roles specifically for him. By constantly exploring new dimensions of his acting talent, he proves that his glorious 55-year journey is far from over.
