Shree Radha Damodar Studios (SRD Studios) and ETV WIN Originals have officially launched their third production, ‘VETA’, with a pooja ceremony. Directed by Ashok Kotipalli, the film stars Sandeep Saroj and Satwika Jampa in the lead roles. The title and first look at the world of the film introduce an untold tale from the heartlands of Godavari, promising a raw, rustic world of love and pain.
Chief Guest Konidela Nagendra Babu participated in the ceremony and handed over the script to the team. K.S. Ravi Kumar performed the clap, while Sai Rajesh, SKN, VN Aditya and producer Phani Adapaka switched on the camera. Directors Meher Ramesh and Yadhu Vamsee, along with music director Anudeep Dev, also attended the ceremony and extended their support to the team.
Speaking at the event, K.S. Ravi Kumar revealed that director Ashok Kotipalli had narrated the story to him over WhatsApp around 15 days earlier. He recalled how Ashok explained the characters, scenes and dialogues with expressions and emotion while narrating the story. His narration made such an impression that even his wife, who happened to see part of it, asked him whether he had agreed to do the film. He said he came to the pooja along with his wife and wished the entire team, particularly Ashok Kotipalli, the producers and the new lead pair. He said he could not reveal anything about his character because of the suspense surrounding it, but added that he liked the character and found the film’s line different. He also joked that his Telugu would become better after the film because he has a lot of dialogues in it.
Tanmai N, Creative Producer at ETV WIN, thanked the print, electronic and social media representatives for attending the event. He spoke about VETA being the second project with Sandeep Saroj for ETV and the first project for SRD Studios, while noting the recognition already achieved by the team associated with Committee Kurrollu. He said the team is attempting to explore a genre that they believe will connect with Telugu audiences and added that more updates from ETV WIN will follow.
Producer Phani Adapaka introduced VETA as the third production from ETV WIN and SRD Studios and thanked the guests, media, influencers and the entire team for their support. He expressed particular gratitude to Niharika Konidela, recalling their association with Committee Kurrollu, which went on to receive a National Award, and thanked her for continuing to support and encourage him in his journey as a producer. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Nagendra Babu, describing him as someone who has guided him throughout his journey in cinema and encouraged him to make films with confidence. Speaking about VETA, he said that, like Committee Kurrollu, it is rooted in a village setting and carries the kind of emotional quality that can connect strongly with audiences. He said Ashok Kotipalli’s writing impressed him and that after hearing the story, he felt it was one that they had to make. He stressed that VETA is not merely a rural story, but a very commercial film with a natural village backdrop. He revealed that Sandeep Saroj will be seen in a completely different space, as a commercial hero with aggressive action and substantial fight sequences. He wished *Sandee*p the very best for taking up the new role and expressed confidence in the film.
Sandeep Saroj thanked Nagendra Babu and all the guests for attending and blessing the team. He spoke about his journey following Committee Kurrollu and his continuing association with ETV WIN and SRD Studios. Addressing the title, he clarified that VETA was not chosen simply because it was once associated with a Chiranjeevi film. He said the title is genuinely apt for the story, and what exactly the “hunt” in VETA refers to will become clear as further updates are released.
Satwika Jampa described getting the opportunity to be part of VETA as something very special and said she considers it an important step in her career. She expressed her happiness at working with such a strong team and said she is excited to work with director Ashok Kotipalli, co-star Sandeep Saroj, SRD Studios and ETV WIN, while learning through the process and contributing to a good film.
Director Ashok Kotipalli, making his directorial debut with VETA, thanked everyone who attended the ceremony, including Nagendra Babu, Sai Rajesh, SKN and Meher Ramesh. He thanked K.S. Ravi Kumar for immediately accepting his story and expressed his gratitude to producer Phani Adapaka, Kalki Raja and the ETV WIN team for giving him the opportunity to make his first film as a director. He assured that more updates about VETA will follow.
