Sandeep Raj delivered an OTT hit with Colour Photo film, 5 years ago during pandemic. He took time due to various reasons to start his next film, Mowgli 2025. The movie stars Roshan Kanakala. Sakshi Sagar is playing as a specially abled female lead whose is deaf and mute while Bandi Saroj Kumar, who built a cult for himself with YouTube releases is playing a protagonist. People Media Factory have produced the film and movie released on 13th December 2025. Let's discuss about the film in detail.

Plot:

Murali Krishna aka Mowgli (Roshan Kanakala) is an orphan and he makes his living by staying in nearby forest village. He has a close friend Bunty (Harsha Chemudu), who is ready to give life for him. Mowgli has an aim to become a Police Officier, like his deceased father. To achieve that, he keeps helping a location co-ordinator. He is disrespected by some and respected by some but he doesn't care about it all. He keeps giving and loving people.

During a shoot, he meets dancer Jasmine (Sakshi Sagar) and woes her. He doesn't back out even after knowing she is deaf and mute. A police officer Christoper Nolan (Bandi Saroj Kumar) likes to use women and he decides to trap Jasmine. He uses all tricks to break the lovers but Mowgli gets to know the reality of all the misunderstandings and expresses his love for her. She experiences her father like love when she is with him and accepts him. But Nolan starts to plot against them. What will he do? How can Mowgli win against him? Watch the movie to know more.

Analysis:

A routine story always needs a fresh perspective and presentation. Here, writer-director Sandeep Raj tried to infuse that freshness by making the lead a deaf and mute. But he did not write a very convincing love story between them. It just feels like rather them falling in love, the story is more about Nolan aka Bandi Saroj Kumar's character. There is no proper build-up or sequences that really stick to your heart about both the young leads falling in love.

The writing needed to be more focused on how these two got attracted to each other rather than trying to play the orphan card. The build of trust between both of them who know the hardships of life is just missing. The script writing looks more inspired from old movies than trying to build on something fresh with new characters. It is more like you know the beats and hence, we are going to play around with the same rather than offer you anything of significance.

Comedy, emotions and characters are written in so amatuerish way that writing is the most disappointing part of the film. Roshan Kanakala as a performer is good and Sakshi Sagar has likeable energy. But their chemistry doesn't lit up the screen and it feels like more forced to come together. Bandi Saroj Kumar is exceptional and he has great screen presence. But the underwhelming writing, even undermines his performance big time.

Kaala Bhairava's music is good but it doesn't really fit the film. He tried his best to elevate and engage but writing and execution are too underwhelming. Sandeep Raj showcased that he has talent to carve out emotional scenes in Colour Photo but here he just goes over board and doesn't really engage in any emotion. Even editing and cinematography are sub-standard. Production values are fine but overall, the movie is a major disappoint.

Bottomline:

Nothing works while Bandi Saroj Kumar, leads did try their best to elevate a disappointing script. Misfire.
