Prashanth Varma is expanding his Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU) with Mahakali, and the makers have now set the stage for the next big reveal. The film’s glimpse will be released on August 24, with the intriguing tagline “The End Begins”, hinting at a significant chapter in the expanding mythological superhero universe.
After the global success of Hanu-Man, Prashanth Varma has been building the PVCU with ambitious stories rooted in Indian mythology and superhero elements. Mahakali is expected to take the universe into a new world, with Bhoomi Shetty playing the lead and Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna portraying the prominent character of Shukracharya.
Puja Kolluru is directing the film, while Prashanth Varma has penned the story and screenplay. RKD Studios is producing the project on a large scale. The team has reportedly spent more than 125 days shooting the film, with extensive sets created to bring its larger-than-life world to the screen.
The glimpse is expected to offer the first major look at the film’s characters and visual world. With the makers choosing the words “The End Begins” for the announcement, the glimpse could also drop clues about how Mahakali connects to the larger PVCU and where the franchise is headed next.
