Kiran Abbavaram has addressed the ongoing debate surrounding the box office collections of his blockbuster KA, dismissing allegations that the film's numbers were inflated. Speaking at the Chennai Love Story promotions, the actor explained that the gross collections a film earns and the profits a producer eventually receives are two entirely different things.

Kiran said people often misunderstand the economics of filmmaking. According to him, even if a film collects ₹100 crore at the box office, it does not mean the producer pockets the same amount. He pointed out that producers recover their investment through multiple revenue streams, including theatrical distribution, OTT, satellite and other rights, each sold separately. The actual returns depend on several business factors, and comparing the box office gross directly with a producer's earnings is misleading.

Moving on to his upcoming release Chennai Love Story, Kiran expressed immense confidence in the romantic drama. He stated that he believes the film will be the best work of his career and is eagerly waiting for audiences to watch it when it releases worldwide on July 24.

The actor also revealed that his role as Steven Shankar will remain one of the most memorable characters of his career. Chennai Love Story stars Sri Gouri Priya as the female lead and is directed by Ravi Namburii from a story by Sai Rajesh. The film is jointly produced by Sai Rajesh and SKN under the Amrutha Productions and Mass Movie Makers banners, with music composed by Mani Sharma. The romantic drama, set against the backdrop of Chennai, follows two youngsters navigating love, emotions and life's challenges.
