The Sing Geetham celebration event on June 7 at Prasad Labs, Chennai is set to become more than a film event with Kamal Haasan attending it ahead of the film’s June 11 release. The occasion marks another public reunion of Kamal and veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, one of Indian cinema’s most memorable creative partnerships.

Kamal has always carried visible admiration for Singeetam’s work. He previously celebrated the filmmaker through Apoorva Singeetham, a film discussion series that invited names like Mani Ratnam and several other cinema legends to revisit their films and interact with him on how those classics were imagined and executed.

Adding to the nostalgia, Devi Sri Prasad revealed that Kamal visited the team during production and even asked Singeetam to write him into the film as well. The film itself also carries a long history. Singeetam originally conceived Sing Geetham nearly 40 years ago and wanted to make it with Kamal even before Pushpaka Vimanam. 

That version never happened, but decades later, the filmmaker has finally brought the project to life. Produced by Nag Ashwin, the musical fantasy stars Ayaan, Ahilya and Shalini Kondepudi, with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
