ED registers cases on Vijay, Rana and Manchu Lakshmi

Enforcement Directorate has decided to register a case on Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, Manchu Lakshmi, Prakash Raj, Sudigali Sudheer and many other celebrities, social media influencers for promoting illegal betting applications. The case also involves violations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The ED has taken cognizance of promotional activities carried out by a wide range of individuals who endorsed betting platforms, thereby encouraging users to participate in unlawful online betting.

The ED has also named key individuals involved in the operation and management of these betting apps :

28. Social media influencers Ajay, Sunny, and Sudheer
29. YouTube channel ‘Local Boy Nani’
As few social activists raised objection against celebrities promoting illegal betting apps. ED started investigation into the actors promoting them and many celebrities have also apologised for promoting them. Still, ED has moved forward with registering the case. We have to wait and see, how celebrities will respond.
