Fahadh Faasil has made his direct Telugu film debut with Pushpa films. Now, he made his first film as main lead in Telugu, Don't Trouble The Trouble. Being an accomplished Malayalam actor, his leading debut attracted many while SS Rajamouli and his family name involved as producers made it even more interesting. The movie released today and let's discuss about it in detail.
Plot:
Soori (Fahadh Faasil) is a selfish thief and an ambulance driver who gambles. He injects the goat of famous don (Mahesh Manjrekar), to win against it in a bout. He gets caught and has to pay Rs.25 lakhs in two nights. As he tries to make the money by kidnapping rich kids, he meets Divya (Ssara).
But she is a ghost and she doesn't know yet. Soori tries to use her obsession with magic to pose as a popular magician and bring her parents back. What happened to them? Why can Soori see her? What's all the connection and story about? Watch the movie to know more.
Analysis:
Fahadh Faasil is brilliant as a thief and ruthless, selfish guy. He brings in novelty and authenticity to otherwise a predictable story, screenplay. His performance makes it interesting to an extent. Ssara Palekar is good while Saurabh Sachdeva and Mahesh Manjrekar are left to ham.
Shashank Yeleti has written very predictable screenplay for a story that might have been told with novelty. What if she is some mystical personality than just a ghost? Maybe there are endless possibilities to how this story could have been told but the way chosen here is beaten to death.

Makers have done a sincere attempt to give enough budget for the film to shine. The VFX work, Cinematography and editing are good till the climax stretch. There, the movie losses all the good brownie points yet the effort is visible in making the frames viable.
Mainly, the emotional portions borrow heavily from SS Rajamouli's previous films and beats that are old. Hence, it tends to go overboard in showcasing ruthless thief portion and at the time tries to flip all like a switch. The writing did need a lot more than offered. Kaala Bhairava's score is good still, the impact of the film is lost. So, a well executed film with underwhelming results.
Positives:
Fahadh Faasil performance
Ssara Palekar cuteness
Kaala Bhairava's BGM
Production values
Negatives:
Predictable screenplay
Old story
Depending mostly on cliches
Bottomline: Very well executed but old wine in an old bottle!
Rating: 2.75/5
