CM Vijay helping Suriya or Trisha?

May 13, 2026

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has been busying learning the poli-tricks to establish his position as CM. But he gave his first nod to Tamil Film Industry to carry Early Morning Shows for upcoming Suriya's Karuppu. DMK has abolished the system of EMS and 4 AM, 1 AM shows after several mishaps.

They have made it a rule for any film to only have regular four shows while distributors, exhibitors and producers have been asking for 9 AM shows at least to increase show count to 5 for big films. Now, CM Vijay relaxed the rules for Suriya's Karuppu and SR Prabhu thanked him and TVK governance for their help.

While this looks like Vijay helping his supposed rival and highly struggling Suriya, to negate the negative word-of-mouth and gain some traction with EMS, many note that the movie has Trisha Krishnan as the leading lady. In fact, they directly state that he relaxed the rule straight away just for her.

With record low buzz for any Suriya film, Karuppu has a long struggle ahead of it at the theatres but the EMS can help the producers to flair up fans and spread some positive word as early as possible with FDFS Hungama. While Trisha had differences with director RJ Balaji for his promotional strategy of keeping her visuals for late, still her presence seems to have helped in some or the other way.

Now, it is all upto RJ Balaji to negate the negativity formed by his presence as the main villain at least from the trailer and hope that Suriya rules the box office on God Mode with young sensation Sai Abhyankkar helping him with grand BGM to make an impression straight in the hearts of TN audiences.
