The prestigious “Bapu Bomma – Vishwa Mahila” Awards ceremony was organized in a grand manner by noted actress K. Divyavani Choudary.
The first award recipient was Mega Mother Mrs. Konidela Anjanidevi.
Divyavani Choudary, a prominent actress who earned a permanent place in the hearts of Telugu audiences as a “Bapu Bomma”, and who has also been making her mark in the social and political spheres, instituted these awards on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026 under the title “Bapu Bomma – Vishwa Mahila.”
Among the distinguished women who received the awards were Mrs. Konidela Anjanidevi, wife of Rebel Star Krishnam Raju – Mrs. Shyamala Devi, Anchor Swapna, Janeta Kancherla (USA), Dr. Vennela Gaddar, Dr. Padmaja Chandrakant, Sameera Bharadwaj, Rekharani, and D. Jyothi Reddy (USA), among others.
The grand event was held at Daspalla Hotel, Hyderabad, with the support of Telangana Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. Several prominent personalities attended the ceremony as guests, including Telangana Congress Party President Mahesh Goud, Telugu One Chairman K. Ravishankar, noted actor and writer Harshavardhan, Deputy Collector E. Venkatachari, and Assistant Commissioner of Police M. Kiran kumar, among others.
Speakers at the event appreciated Divyavani for launching the prestigious “Bapu Bomma – Vishwa Mahila Awards” and for beginning this initiative by honouring Mega Matriarch Mrs. Konidela Anjanidevi. Divyavani, who has been actively contributing to the film, political, and social sectors, stated that the purpose of this initiative is to honour women who excel in various fields and inspire other women in society. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the grand success of the event. Divyavani also conveyed special thanks to the Government of Telangana under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for its efforts towards women’s empowerment in the state. On this occasion, Divyavani announced that the “Bapu Bomma – Vishwa Mahila Awards” will soon be expanded beyond the two Telugu states and conducted across India and internationally!!
