The Andhra Pradesh government is bringing back the prestigious Nandi Awards to honor the outstanding talent in the Telugu film and television industry. FDC Chairman P. Bharath Bhushan announced that the government will present the previously declared awards for the years 2012 to 2016.

To bridge the recent gap, four awards per year will be given for the 2017 to 2024 period, which includes two production and two special jury awards. The awards for the year 2025 will also been officially confirmed.

All the awards will be distributed by December 2026. The process will begin with the formation of selection committees in October, followed by the finalization of winners in November. The award ceremonies are scheduled to take place in December. The Nandi Film and National Film Awards will be hosted in either Amaravati or Vijayawada, while the Nandi TV Awards will take place in Tirupati.

A total of 46 awards will be presented in the film category and 48 in the television segment, covering various crafts including acting, directing, and technical brilliance. The National Film Awards segment will carry significant cash prizes, including five lakhs for the NTR National Film Award, and two lakhs each for the BN Reddy, Nagireddy-Chakrapani, and Raghupathi Venkaiah awards. Winners across all categories will receive gold, silver, bronze, or copper Nandi idols along with cash rewards and appreciation certificates.
