Updated : Aug 28, 2025

Prabhas starrer The Raja Saab has been in production from past 3 years. The anticipation for this film has been sky high among fans of the actor and they are waiting eagerly  to watch their idol on screens in a comical avatar. The Horror Comedy has been locked for 5th December date but it has been postponed to Sankranti, 9th January 2026.

For Prabhas, Sankranti has been the turning point, as his first blockbuster Varsham released for the season in 2004. His next Sankranti release came in 2007, Yogi. But the movie turned out to be a disaster and in 19 years, he did not release any film for the festival.

Now, if The Raja Saab doesn't postpone again, he will have a huge release for Sankranti season. Earlier, Adipurush was planned for the festive season but due to VFX poor quality in the teaser, producers re-worked and shifted the release to Summer.

Maruthi Dasari is directing the film with Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal in leading lady roles. The movie is a horror comedy and the long delays in production are said to be a result of re-shoots and injury for Prabhas. Well, Producer TG Vishwa Prasad revealed their plan to release for Sankranti at Mirai Trailer Event.
