Megastar Chiranjeevi has rejoined the sets of Vishwambhara for a short reshoot, giving the long-pending fantasy spectacle another push towards completion. The film has been in production for a considerable period, with its extensive VFX work being the primary reason behind the repeated delays. The team is now determined to finish the remaining work without compromising on the visual quality.
Interestingly, Vishwambhara is currently looking at two possible release windows. The makers are hopeful of completing the entire post-production by December and are considering a Christmas 2026 release if the work progresses as planned. However, they are also keeping Summer 2027 as a safer alternative.
The background score is another important component currently taking shape. While MM Keeravani has composed the songs, Gowra Hari has taken charge of the background score and has already begun working on the film. His recently released OST glimpse has also given audiences an idea about the grand, spiritual world being created for the film.
The Summer 2027 option, however, will depend heavily on the market scenario. The makers are keen about Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit and SS Rajamouli's Varanasi progress and if they look at other dates than planned March and April dates. If they come on planned dates, Vishwambhara could look at May release, if not they might take April date.
For now, the priority is clear — complete the VFX, finish the background score and get the film ready by December. If everything falls into place, Chiranjeevi could return to theatres with Vishwambhara during Christmas. Otherwise, the makers have the Summer 2027 window as a backup, giving them enough breathing space to present the film on the scale they have promised.
