Dulquer Salmaan’s much-awaited I’m Game may not arrive in theatres as scheduled. The action thriller, which is currently locked for a worldwide theatrical release on August 20, is reportedly facing a delay due to pending post-production work. However, the makers are yet to officially announce any change in the release date.

Directed by Nahas Hidhayath of RDX fame, I’m Game marks Dulquer Salmaan’s return to Malayalam cinema and is also his 40th film. The project has generated considerable interest with its stylish presentation and action-packed trailer, which introduced Dulquer in a completely new avatar as Dan John, a gambler who relies on calculations and probability rather than luck.

The reported postponement comes at a crucial time, with I’m Game positioned as one of the major Onam releases. If the film moves out of August 20, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa would get a wide release on the date, while the competition for Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, releasing on 21st August, could also ease.

Apart from Dulquer, the film features Kayadu Lohar, Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kathir and Samyuktha Viswanathan in key roles. The movie has also been confirmed for a Telugu release, making its release plans important for audiences across multiple South Indian markets. The makers did not make any official announcement about postponement.
