Salman Khan ensues legal battle against Blackbuck case movie

Jun 2, 2026 1:54PM

Salman Khan, Bhai of Bollywood, is no stranger to controversies. Recently, he got issued warning to paparazzi for taking his photos outside hospital. He asked them to not cross privacy line. Now, he sent legal notices to producer Amit Jani for producing a film "inspired" from Blackbuck poaching case.

In 1998, during Hum Saath Saath Hai shoot, Salman went on a hunt with his co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and others. While Saif, Tabu and Sonali have been acquainted of any charges, Salman is still facing legal turmoil. On top of it, he is facing life threat from Lawrence Bishnoi gang for disrespecting their religious God.

Well, it is surprising if a producer or director doesn't come forward to make a film on this popular material. Amit Jani came forward to produce Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy, in the direction of Bharat S. Shrinate. But Bhai is not in the mood to let it pass by. Apparently, his legal team has sent notices to the producer to stop production and promotions with a formal cease-and-desist notice.

While they are expected to immediately cease filming and release, the producer is also not backing down. He unveiled the first look poster and confirmed that the teaser of the film will release on 20th June. He termed Salman's actions as "pressure tactics" to absorb their "creative freedom" and he wouldn't let that happen. Let's see how this new controversy will unfold in coming days.
