Salman Khan made several interesting revelations at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. From the film's repeated postponements to its content, VFX and box-office expectations, the actor addressed various questions and put several rumours to rest.
Salman strongly dismissed reports that the government pressured the makers to alter the script or soften its portrayal of China. He clarified that Maatrubhumi is about soldiers, their families and the circumstances they face. He also thanked the censor board and government ministries for clearing the film without a single cut.
The actor admitted that he had feared several times that the film might never reach theatres. Recalling the difficult shooting conditions, financial challenges and delays, he said his biggest concern was that audiences might lose interest in the project. He described it as a beautiful and noble story that deserved to reach the big screen.

Explaining the latest postponement, Salman revealed that the team initially expected to complete the shoot in 45-50 days, but Chitrangda Singh's injury delayed the schedule. He also stressed that the makers want the VFX to impress audiences rather than give viewers an opportunity to criticise individual shots. The film is now confirmed for a December 4 release.

Salman announced a special initiative for senior citizens, revealing that people above 75 years of age can watch Maatrubhumi for just Rs. 11. He praised Chitrangda's performance, particularly in the final 20 minutes, and said her emotional portrayal would leave audiences teary-eyed.
Interestingly, Salman also spoke about Ramayana, suggesting that discussions should focus on Lord Rama and his qualities rather than the film's reported Rs. 4,000 crore budget or VFX. He drew a parallel with his own film, stating that Maatrubhumi's protagonist also embodies the qualities of Rama. The actor even made a light-hearted reference to his previous film Sikandar during the interaction.
