Priyanka Chopra Jonas is revisiting one of the most successful projects from her production banner, Purple Pebble Pictures. The actress has announced Ventilator 2, reuniting with director Rajesh Mapuskar for the sequel to their 2016 Marathi film. The new film is scheduled to arrive in theatres in 2027.

The announcement comes as Purple Pebble Pictures completes ten years in the industry. Ventilator holds a special place in the banner's journey, having established its presence in Marathi cinema with a story that connected strongly with audiences.

Rajesh Mapuskar will return to write and direct the sequel. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Dr Madhu Chopra and Mapuskar will jointly produce the film under Purple Pebble Pictures and Magij Pictures.

The original Ventilator centred on a large family dealing with an emotional crisis when one of its elderly members is admitted to hospital ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. The film found its strength in portraying family dynamics through humour, sentiment and relatable situations.

Details regarding its cast, storyline and shooting schedule are yet to be revealed. She completed shooting for her portions in Rajamouli's Varanasi and movie is slated for 2027 release.
