After Dhurandhar Ranveer to turn Shiva

May 12, 2026

Ranveer Singh is on an incredible roll. After finishing work on his intense, high-octane actioner Dhurandhar directed by Aditya Dhar, he is now shifting gears toward the divine. The actor is set to headline a massive cinematic trilogy based on Amish Tripathi’s iconic book, The Immortals of Meluha. This transition from a high-stakes thriller to a mythological epic marks a significant turning point in his career.

In a major partnership, Ranveer’s Maa Kasam Films has teamed up with Ananya Birla’s Birla Studios. They have reportedly secured the adaptation rights for a whopping Rs 40 crore. This deal stands as one of the most expensive intellectual property acquisitions in Bollywood history, signaling the massive scale and creative ambition behind this upcoming project.

Playing Lord Shiva is a dream role for any actor, and fans believe Ranveer is the perfect fit for the fierce yet meditative warrior. The trilogy will focus on heavy world-building and high-end VFX to bring the mystical land of Meluha to life. The project is currently in the pre-production and writing phase as the team works meticulously on the script.

While the cameras are slated to roll in 2028, the excitement is already building across the industry. Ranveer will first complete his current commitments, including the zombie thriller Pralay, before diving deep into the spiritual and physical transformation required for the role of Shiva. This transition is set to further solidify his status as one of the most versatile stars in cinema today.
