Kanguva makers too desperate for saving the movie

Kanguva makers prior to the release kept talking about how their movie will be a Pan-India blockbuster. They even talked about how it will be a Baahubali level success for Tamil Cinema. They even talked about movie taking Tamil and Indian Cinema to next level with great visual storytelling.

Now, after the release, they have turned desperate to save their film. Suriya did his job well and gave a good performance but he could not really rise above the script that is not even middling at best. Director Siva just went for complete absurdity and loud storytelling that it is hard to get behind some of the weird scenes.

Adding to that, people could not tolerate the sound mixing failure that even caused for irritation while watching. The makers have announced that they have trimmed the movie by 12 minutes and even re-worked on the soundtrack mixing. And on the other hand, they have been releasing Rs.140 crores gross collection posters too.

It just seems like they are struck with some unmitigable issues and a lighting that making them rush to find some cover somewhere. Jyothika's open letter and admission that first 20 minutes did not working for her and producer K.E. Gnanavelraja's insistence on Kanguva 2 being in the pipeline for sure just showcases their desperation. Also, they are making many film personalities to support them as well.

While it does showcase how Suriya without a box office success is trying to hard find one by hook or crook, it also explains how producer has been pushing for a big blockbuster success with this film to recover from all the pitfalls he had before making this movie.

Trade has already stated that the movie had a huge fall on Monday and on the other hand, several theatres in Tamil Nadu started replacing with Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran. Suriya and producer would have anticipated at least some sort of average level talk with all the work they have put in.

But audiences are no longer going for complete old school thinking and they have been harsh to any film that tries to fish around rather than delivering what they expect with all big promises. Makers hiding the present day portions and trying to just build up buzz on historical portions did backfire as many anticipated.
