Akhanda 2 is releasing after many hurdles and the makers are confident about delivering a huge blockbuster as it marks the fourth collaboration of NBK and Boyapati Sreenu. Akhanda has started the blockbuster streak of NBK and the sequel has become most anticipated films in recent times. With huge anticipation and after overcoming financial issues, the movie released on 12th December, with previous night previews. Let's discuss about the film in detail.
Plot:
After Galwan Attacks, a Chinese Army Official (Sangay Tsheltrim), who lost his son, decides to attack India in a bio-war and targets even belief in God. So, they decide to pollute River Ganga water with a deadly virus, during Maha Kumbha Mela. MLA Murali Krishna (Balakrishna)'s daughter Janani (Harshaali Malhotra), who became youngest scientist at DRDO, decides to use her knowledge of developing vaccine for armed forces to sustain against rough weather on borders to develop antidote for the virus. She is encouraged to do so by her higher official (Samyuktha Menon).
Chinese Army uses powerful politician Aditya Thakur (Kabir Duhan Singh) as their mole in India and after mixing virus in Ganga, he starts spreading hatred against Lord Shiva. Entire country starts to lose their belief on God and shut the temples. Akhanda Aghora (Nandamuri Balakrishna) has to enter into the scene to restore the belief on God among public. He has to save Janani from the anti-Indian forces and the army of devil Tantric (Aadhi Pinisetty), who has a personal vendetta against Akhanda. How will he achieve all this as a single-man army? Watch the movie to know more.
Analysis:
Nandamuri Balakrishna delivers yet again what fans hope to see from him. His performance as Akhanda is the major highlight of the film. You cannot imagine someone else in Akhanda character. He even carries Murali Krishna role well. There are many dialogues that relate to present AP drug spread and as an MLA, him talking about children welfare is appreciable. Also, his dialogues explaining Hindu Sanatana Dharma and Indian Vedas greatness, about Shiva are appreciable, too.
Thaman's Background Score had more work than his songs but Jajikaya song will be a huge hit with B and C centre audiences. The interval episode works well as Boyapati Sreenu is able to elevate and present NBK in his usual powerful style. It will give goosebumps to fans of their combination and NBK. Also, the movie pre-climax and climax episodes work well with parallels to Lord Shiva. A sentimental scene between Lord Shiva and Akhanda's mother is beautiful written.
Harshaali Malhotra's performance as Janani works well but Samyuktha's role feels a bit dragged in the first hour. Boyapati Sreenu is known for his action sequences and he does deliver on that front in a perfect manner. He knows the strengths of Balakrishna and how to elevate the character with him at the centre. He delivered what people expect from their combination in a big way. He uses Lord Shiva's trident and Lord Hanuman's mace in most creative manner.
Aadhi Pinisetty role as an antagonist works as an extended cameo and he performs really well. His role challenges Akhanda to the core and NBK roars in these portions really well. On the down side, the sequences work but the story is wafer thin. Still, Boyapati Sreenu packages it with devotional and mass elements throughout. 14 Reels Plus, the producers did not back out from spending appropriately. VFX work is also good and Boyapati used them very cleverly.
Cinematography at places could have been better with even sharper editing but action sequences give that high moments. It is hard to maintain keep things engaging with single costume to hero and single emotion, but NBK-Boya combination achieves it.
Overall, movie entertains audiences with exactly what we have grown to expect and anticipate from NBK and Boyapati Sreenu combination. The movie does ask you to believe in God and if you do not, it feels like a too much of a drag at places. In short, the film is not for people who do not believe in God and also, those who need strong LOGICS. The movie is a pure action entertainer and an NBK-Boya film that delivers on its promise.
Bottomline:
An NBK-Boyapati combination film that targets masses and delivers exactly that. Stay away if you cannot overlook Logics and don't believe in GOD.
Rating: 3/5
