Gaddam Gang Review, Gaddam Gang Movie Review, Gaddam Gang Telugu Movie Review, Gaddam Gang Rating.......Hero Rajasekhar has made an experiment with a comic genre with his latest film “Gaddam Gang”, nearly after two decades of essaying roles as the action hero. “Gaddam Gang” is the remake of the Tamil block buster film “Soodhu Kavvum” starring Vijay Sethupathy in the lead role. It is a dark comedy film, a genre quite new to Telugu cinema. Lets see in Gaddam gang review, whether the film has reached the expectations or not.
Story:
Dasu (Rajasekhar) is a jobless guy who leads his life doing petty kidnappings. He forms a small gang to do the 'low-risk' kidnappings. He has a set of rules to make a successful living out of this crime. However Dasu and his gang (Satyam Rajesh, Achu etc.) attempts to kidnap a minister's son which goes awfully wrong at the start. They kidnaps him successfully in their second attempt and also gets the 2 crore ransom from the minister. But a dispute about sharing the money lands them in big trouble.
Performances:
Rajasekhar is decent in the lead role. He tries his hand at comedy which is unusual for him. Rajasekhar is fit and looks young for his age. Sheena Shahabadi fits into the glamour slot perfectly and she is a feast for the eyes. Sathyam Rajesh, Achu and the guy who played Pandu were just about okay. Naga Babu is impressive. Naresh and Raghubabu have done justice to their roles. Saptagiri isn't up to the standards set by him.
Analysis:
'Gaddam Gang' is the remake of 2013 Tamil superhit 'Soodhu Kavvum'. What worked for the original is mentally unstable characters and their unusual characterizations. Despite staying true to the original, Director Santhosh Jayakumar failed to keep the audience glued to the screens due to lack of emotional connect and high entertainment quotient.
Songs and Background Score by Achu are decent. Dialogues are poorly written. Editing is poor. Production Values are pretty good. There are some genuinely fun moments in Gaddam Gang which has a fairly decent first half. However the film fails to keep the audience engaged until the end. Sometimes it seems like you are watching the Tamil dubbed movie.“Gaddam Gang” makes for one time watch.
